Deer Repellent Service Explained

The deer repellent service works by applying distasteful potions on the leaves of the plants the deer would eat.  Every two weeks I visit and make the application to any plants that the deer might eat.  The deer begin to learn that the plants on your property don’t taste good anymore and the process gets easier.  I apply the repellent to plants I know the deer might eat so even if the deer have never eaten the sedum from your gardens I’ll treat them as we want to make it as difficult as possible for them to spend time in your gardens.

  • Visits begin in early April and occur every 10-14 days through the end of September.
  • The repellent does not wash off with normal rain or watering.
  • The repellent needs to be reapplied for new plant growth.
  • The repellent works by both taste and smell.
  • The deer do need to learn the plants taste bad so some infrequent damage is expected.  Consistent grazing is eliminated.

I use two different repellents; one goes on clear and one chalky white.  They both work the same way.  (taste and smell)  I try to use the clear repellent in higher visibility areas (patios and walkways) but will tailor the repellent service to your property.
