Deer Damage Prevention

Japanese Beetle Management

Japanese Beetle

We have two methods of controlling Japanese Beetles.

1. Foliar spraying on your gardens. This entails applying an insecticide to your landscape plants that the beetles are known to favor. Applications will be spaced 2-3 weeks apart and can begin in late June. The beetle generally peak in July/August so 3 treatments may be all we would need.

2. Systemic control. Certain plants, roses especially, can benefit by applying insecticide at the soil level. These products are absorbed by the roots and circulated throughout the plant. The plant becomes nearly poisonous to the beetle.

We will give free estimates and treatment plans for any Japanese Beetle plants on your property.

The list below is a thorough but partial list of the plants the Japanese Beetles favor.
